Job: MRC PhD Studentship in Psychology, University of Bath

What: MRC PhD Studentship in Psychology ’Cannabis, Tobacco and Psychiatric Disease: Isolating their Relationship by Comparing Data from Countries that Smoke Cannabis with and without Tobacco’. This PhD will ask – Can we isolate the relationships between cannabis, tobacco and psychiatric disease through triangulation of data from countries that smoke cannabis with, and without tobacco?

Job: Research Associate (x2), University of Cambridge

What: The University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint two Research Associates to work on feasibility and process evaluations of environmental and policy interventions. They will be working to assess the feasibility of implementing a RCT of financial incentives and design and conduct quantitative and qualitative studies about how environmental and policy interventions to promote walking and cycling are used, viewed, experienced and interpreted in new residential developments and around schools. They will be responsible for collecting both qualitative and quantitative data and analysing existing quantitative data from intervention providers.

Job: Lecturer in Health Psychology, Stirling University

Event: Satellite meeting for the European Congress on Obesity, Dundee

What: Satellite meeting for the European Congress on Obesity organised by the Centre for Research into Prevention and Screening (CRiPS), University of Dundee. Action on weight management in cancer – developing an evidence base to support intervention trials – views from the NIHR Cancer and Nutrition collaboration research group on cancer prevention and screening. The aim of our meeting is to consider current evidence around obesity, intentional weight loss and potential approaches for trials to reduce cancer risk and in cancer survivorship. The meeting has a range of speakers including expertise in Epidemiology, trials, behaviour change, obesity, physical activity, cancer survivorship, public perspectives. This event is supported by the World Cancer Research Fund, Association of Obesity Scotland Network and Scottish Cancer Prevention Network
